In order to create a successful, sleek and professional looking final product, I decided that it was highly important to carefully consider important decisions on my magazine cover - mainly the cover model.
My magazine is aimed at teenagers/young adults, so I will also ensure that my model is of a similar age to my target audience in order for a relationship to be easily established. Additionally, a younger target audience is more likely to be able to relate to a younger cover model in comparison to an older person with whom they have nothing in common.
I have decided to use a female model for my magazine cover, as I believe it will appeal successfully to my target audience. This decision was partly influenced by the results from my questionnaire. During my questionnaire, I found that females are more likely to read music magazines than males.
Due to this research, I decided that if I use a female model on my cover, my decision will be accepted by my target audience as a whole. I will ensure that the picture I use isn't too risque, as that would put off a female audience, yet isn't so girly and boring as to alienate a male andience. I will ensure that my model does a variety of 'poses' in my photoshoot, but I believe an ideal picture would be a woman on the cover who women can look up to and idolise, and men can equally look up to and appreciate, but has the addition of a more physical attraction.
