Magazine double page spread production - Initial stages

After preparing what to include in my interview with the artist - I began to put together my double page spread feature on Adobe Photoshop CS5.

I opened a document with A3 'International paper' and rotated the canvas 90°CW.
I then began to put together my production - starting with the main features of a double page spread.

After thinking of an exciting, eye catching title I decided to use 'People need to get to know the real me!'. I chose this as I believe that it will stand out in my magazine - and also make people consider the question about getting to know her - encouraging them to read the featured interview.

I chose a bold font for this that will stand out against the other text I will use on the page - as it is a typical convention of existing media texts.

I then added a banner on the 'poster page' that will contain my magazine name logo along with the artists name, as I also found this to be a typical convention of existing media products such as in 'Kerrang!' magazine.

I went on to add some slight decorative detail to the interview page. I did this to follow along with the photoshoot theme of being quirky and interesting - and I believe that going along with the theme of alice in wonderland - it will hint towards this. I also included references to alice in wonderland in my interview to further follow my theme - as my artist's album is called 'wonderland' with a single on it called 'down the rabbit hole'.

I added a slight introductary paragraph to my interview, simply saying: 'In this exclusive interview, we reveal Pandora’s shocking departure from the band, her thundering new sound and why being famous isn’t all that.'
